$10,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

ABOUT OUR ICU

  • We are a general medical ICU offering cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and post-surgical monitoring

  • We offer 15 individual rooms for patients

  • We consistently hold 1:2 nurse to patient ratios

  • Our RNs work in close partnership with our intensivists, physicians, and certified nursing assistants

  • We are a close-knit team that values camaraderie and collaboration WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full time / 100% FTE

  • Three 12 hour shifts per week, plus an additional 4 hours per week of administrative time

  • Night shifts only PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination

  • Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present

  • Collaborates with Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations

  • Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments

  • Oversees patient placement and throughput

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and CNAs)

  • Plans and implements educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care

  • Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice

  • Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and workgroups

  • Provides performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations

  • Provides “just in time” feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications

  • Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills

  • Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of recent RN work experience, including nursing experience on a critical care hospital floor

  • Previous charge or supervisory nursing experience

  • Active ACLS

  • Active BLS
