System Support Specialist

HOW A SYSTEM SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.
Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware).
Provides software and system troubleshooting and support.
Provides technical support and training to end-users.
Administers Network Security.
Backs up file server data.
Provides minor to moderately complex server maintenance.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: AA/AS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training
Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Network+, CCNA-Security OR A+ required; Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support; Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software; Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance required
Required Skills and Abilities: Clear and understandable oral communications; demonstrated technical troubleshooting techniques
Preferred Skills: SEC+ preferred
Location: On Customer Site; possible travel to other customer sites in the Pacific AOR

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $27.82 - $34.56. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
