GE Vernova Senior Shipping & Receiving Materials Technician in Schenectady, New York

Job Description Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Materials Technician role is a hands-on, in-person materials validation role located in Schenectady, NY. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in inventory processes essential for a successful production environment supporting manufacturing. This person will demonstrate strong leadership ability with attention to detail. Within this role, the successful candidate’s primary function will focus on ensuring indirect material is available for production needs.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Senior Materials Technician, you will:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory count of shipping fixtures and hardware.

  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers when fit ups are needed, as well as qualifying new suppliers.

  • Work with MRO on returns from site ensuring hardware is being kitted to expectation and returns are made based on production schedule.

  • Work with buyers to coordinate lineside hardware for shipping fixtures – this includes keeping stock levels accurate to ensure there are no issues with supply.

  • Escalate issues with inventory – not limited to notifying correct stakeholders when material needs to be purchased & assisting in the process of ordering material.

  • May assist with SAP transactions & Clerical responsibilities.

  • May assist with developing processes to standardize work.

  • Work with manufacturing team to improve overall processes.

  • Give hourly EE’s technical guidance.

Qualification:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in manufacturing, warehouse or inventory control.

  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certification or equivalent Quality certification

Pay Transparency:

The weekly pay range for this position is $1,035.34 - 1,466.42. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Expected close date from career site is June 17, 2024 or once a contender identified or when filled.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
