Kelly Services Tax Office Assistant in Scarborough, Ontario
Kelly's customer, a Chartered Professional Accountants LLP, is looking for an experienced and motivated Income Tax Office Assistant to join their office located in East Toronto.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor, receive and process incoming mail and email for client personal income tax documents
Maintain personal income tax client logs
Print and organize client personal income tax documents to be used by Staff Accountants for income tax preparation
Download client income tax slips from CRA to DT Max personal income tax software
Prepare personal income tax returns as requested
Filing personal income tax files both paper and electronic formats
Assemble client income tax packages and assist with coordination of signatures, both electronic and manual
Assist Partners in logging status of signature forms and e-filed returns
Follow up with clients regarding outstanding income tax documents and signature forms
Assist Office Administrator with reception duties including receiving telephone and in-person enquiries from clients
Assist Office Administrator in processing incoming and outgoing mail and couriers and maintaining shipping log
Prepare responses to CRA pre and post assessment review requests, both personal and corporate and maintain status log
Manage office process for Auditshield case registrations, claims and billing
Assist Partners and Staff Accountants with special projects such as bookkeeping and drafting response letters to CRA as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of two years of experience working in a professional services environment
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Active CRA MyAccount access for purposes of assigning CRA rep ID
Basic knowledge of Canadian personal income tax preparation
Experience with DT Max and Profile tax software is an asset.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on client service
Ability to develop a positive rapport with clients and staff
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
Detail oriented individual with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage time and adhere to deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to problem solve and identify process improvements.
This position is an in-office position with a potential hybrid option for 1 day per week at home.
