Liberty Healthcare Corporation Primary Care Physician - long term care Medical Director in SC, United States

A full-time Medical Director position is now available with Liberty Healthcare at the C.M. Tucker Jr. Nursing Care Center in Columbia, SC.

The Tucker Nursing Care Center provides a wide array of long-term care services to older adults, veterans, and their spouses.

The Center is operated by the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Selected physicians and clinical staff work through a long-term collaborative partnership with Liberty Healthcare Corporation.

As Medical Director, you will provide clinical leadership to the Center’s staff and help ensure patients receive outstanding health care. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of professional medical staff, rehabilitation services, infection control, credentialing, and performance improvement

  • Supervising members of the medical staff and clinical management team

  • Providing training and education based on best practices

  • Ensuring compliance with State of Federal regulatory and licensing requirements

  • Leading peer review, auditing, and quality assurance initiatives

  • Chairing and participating in various committees

  • Assisting the Center’s Director in the development and implementation of programs, policies. and procedures

  • Consulting on challenging clinical cases and occasionally providing direct patient care

As Medical Director with Liberty Healthcare, you can expect:

You are a good fit for this position if you are licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina and are Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Added qualifications and/or experience in Geriatrics Medicine is desired.
