Description:

Individuals will perform (CAD) for the preparation of environmental engineering drawings using industry-appropriate software. The technician will use standard symbol sets and drawings to minimize drawing effort. The CAD Operator will complete hand drafting as needed. May reference information from vendor prints, catalogs, and technical manuals.

• Serves as the primary drafter on multiple projects under the supervision of staff professionals. The position is responsible for providing illustrated computerized drafting according to project specifications.

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, and other data, using computer-aided design (CAD), according to client specifications.

• Submit documentation packages and produce drawing sets and standard operating procedures.

• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.

• Help establish drafting standards for the company.

• Purchases or recommends purchase of all needed hardware and supplies.

• Ensures the CAD systems are kept up to date with current hardware/software and ensures equipment is properly maintained.

• Classify and organize engineering drawings.

• Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Skills:

Autocad, Design, Cad, Microstation, Drafting, Blueprint

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in drafting environmental consulting drawings including, but not limited to: potentiometric surface maps, isoconcentration maps, cross-sections, etc.

• AutoCAD® 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS experience.

• Under close supervision of a more sr level CAD Operator, sr engineer, or staff professional, assists or performs routine to moderately difficult drafting and office-related tasks.

• Assists Sr CAD Operator(s) or Junior operator in the production of drawings, including pick up of all copies, any artwork, and related materials to the proper vendor.

• Orders and maintains supplies for the drafting department.

• May assist junior or sr CAD operator(s) in the repair of the equipment, as needed.

• Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

• Able to draw contour lines, benzene iso maps, Iso concentration maps, etc.
