Nuveen Investments Farm Operations Manager in Santiago, Chile
The Agronomist will be responsible for supervising all the farming operations of the horticulture portfolio managed by NNC in Chile. Act as a trusted advisor and responsible for the company farming operations, conducted by third party crop managers. NNC Chile is in a growth process, and need some seniority to make sure the crop management is conducted correctly.
This position will be ultimately responsible for the farm operations in Chile.
Key accountabilities
Supervise the farm operations of a portfolio of primarily custom operated Chilean permanent crop properties in order to maximize their income returns and value
Work closely with local consultants, crop managers and other third parties in overseeing properties in the portfolio.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of on-site property managers and crop marketers.
Bridge between farm operations and fruit distribution.
Comptrollership of horticultural project development.
Elaborate farm reports in a monthly basis for management purposes.
Collaborate with the investment management area in identifying new crops an regions with investment potential.
Key requirements
A hands-on approach.
Significant similar and relevant experience
Native Spanish and Fluent English
Being resilient and flexible.
Having ownership, responsibility and accountability.
Knowledge of Cherries, Table Grapes, Avocados, Citrus, Walnuts and/or Hazelnuts is desirable.
Past exposure in fruit distribution / exports is a plus.
