UCLA Health Per Diem Emergency Trauma Tech - Emergency Department - Santa Monica in Santa Monica, California

Description

The ED ETT delivers patient care under the direct supervision of registered nurses. Performs basic patient care skills; follows infection control practices; positions, transfers, and transports patients; takes vital signs; collects specimens; accurately observes, reports, and documents; performs range of motion; assists with feedings, self-care activities, and elimination needs. The Senior ETT will have at least 6-month employment as an ETT at UCLA, and will have demonstrated progressive competency and learning in the role. The Lead ETT role will require at least 1 year of experience as an ETT at UCLA and will have demonstrated engagement in department advancement and leadership aptitude.

Salary: $29.22 - $29.22 Hourly

Qualifications

Ability to document patient care activities using acceptable medical terminology

Skill in transporting various types of patients using different transport modes

Knowledge of common surgical instruments

Ability to lift, push, pull

Knowledge of University and departmental policies and procedures

Ability to carry out directives from nursing and physician staff

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

Ability to perform efficiently in fast-paced environment

Skill in prioritizing tasks

Current BLS Certification

Completion of initial decontamination training (LA County Weapons of Mass Destruction Hospital Mass Casualty Decontamination Class or equivalent) and maintenance of skills through quarterly re-verification sessions and annual disaster exercises (required within 6 months of hire or when training available)
