Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a temporary-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multi-state payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements. Experience with union payroll is a plus. This position will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Calculate and process wage garnishments, deductions, and adjustments accurately and timely.

• Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including tax filings, earnings statements, and labor distribution reports.

• Manage employee timekeeping systems, including reviewing and approving timecards and resolving any discrepancies.

• Assist with the implementation and configuration of payroll software systems, including ADP and Paylocity.

• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure proper documentation and reporting of payroll-related transactions.

• Handle inquiries and requests from employees regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.

• Stay current on payroll regulations and industry trends, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on multi-state payroll.

• Experience with union payroll is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

• Proficiency in payroll software, with experience in ADP and Paylocity preferred.

• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

• Experience with payroll system implementation and configuration is highly desirable.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve payroll-related issues effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
