About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Software QA Specialist with a focus on web application testing to join our software development team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our web applications through rigorous testing and analysis. You will collaborate closely with our development team to identify and resolve issues, streamline processes, and uphold the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Software QA Specialist, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Proven experience as a QA Specialist or QA Engineer with a focus on web application testing, including hands-on experience with Selenium for automated testing and JMeter for performance testing.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications using Selenium for automated testing.

  • Conduct functional, regression, performance, and usability testing using tools such as Selenium and JMeter to identify defects and ensure optimal functionality.

  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Quickly gain an understand of business and domain specific requirements to craft test cases that ensure full test coverage.

  • Perform manual testing when necessary and leverage automation tools to increase testing efficiency and coverage.

  • Identify, report, and track defects using bug tracking systems such as Jira.

  • Analyze test results and provide meaningful insights to improve product quality and user experience.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and techniques.

  • Proficiency in writing detailed test procedures, test cases, and test scripts.

  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications in software testing a plus.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2-3 years on web application testing

  • Expertise in Selenium and JMeter
