Job Description Summary

Drive and coordinate the Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities at for Nuclear Generator new build, Services/Retrofit Projects to ensure zero customer complaints, robust manufacturing processes and traceability of materials. Demonstrate appropriate leadership behaviors to guide the team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of new built and service Projects Customer Mindset and able to cascade the requirements within organization

  • Ensure all customer documentation are ready inline with Project Requirement.

  • Ensure Customer Hold Point calls are raised maintaining project notification timelines

  • Monitor Customer Complaint & Coach Team on problem solving techniques like RCA/CAPA/ 8D

  • Should have clear understanding on product requirements of Generators from 10MW to 800MW (GE make and other OEM, India and Global Installed base) & Knowledge about Nuclear Specific requirements of Nuclear Power Plants

  • Well Convergent with Generator manufacturing processes like Stator bars, stator core stacking, Stator and Rotor Winding, Generator assembly, Generator run test and Brazing process etc.

  • Follow NCR procedures, drive LL & Implementation for future projects, Maintain Central Repository, Connect with Network Factories

  • Create awareness among team to raise stop work/Quality Concern on small deviations

  • Review and approve all quality documents and compile as a EOMR package to external customer and Store at Centralized location. Review with PQM for correctness and completeness

  • Active participation in FMEA meetings and ensure all relevant risks are identified and mitigated before execution of process & Drive Continuous Improvement activities.

  • Closely work with Process engineer for any improvement on current manufacturing process/new upcoming projects

  • Stator Bars: Knowledge about Resin test, Inter turn test, HV test, IR, tan delta and PD Measurements

  • Stator Core Stacking: Knowledge of the stacking process of the stator core, High induction, low induction, identifying hot spots.

  • Stator & Rotor Winding: Knowledge of the winding process of the stator and Rotor, ensuring the windings are correctly placed and secured along with tests like: HV test, PI, IR, Impedance Test.

  • Generator Assembly & Run Test: Knowledge about Generator Assembly and associated inspection. Conduct generator run tests (Routine and Type test) to ensure the generator operates correctly and efficiently under all conditions. All the required test, as per the ITP, Like Impedance, IR, PI, Resistance, HV, Shaft voltage, Power calculations, saturation curve and all type of losses, characteristics, negative sequence, Zero sequence, excitation systems, short circuit test, Voltage recovery, reactance, Vibration etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical engineering

  • Min 10 year experience in Generator shop and Assembly Shop(Generator/Motors)

  • Able to train the management staff/technicians on quality related topics

  • Well convergent with SAP/MTA/Microsoft Office tools

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 : 2015

  • Knowledge of ISO 19443 : 2018

  • Knowledge of ISO 17025
