Amazon Central Ops Manager, Prime Video in San Jose, Costa Rica

Description

Prime Video is a premium streaming service that offers customers a vast collection of TV shows and movies - all with the ease of finding what they love to watch in one place. We offer customers thousands of popular movies and TV shows from Originals and Exclusive content to exciting live sports events. We also offer our members the opportunity to subscribe to add-on channels which they can cancel at anytime and to rent or buy new release movies and TV box sets on the Prime Video Store. Prime Video is a fast-paced, growth business - available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. The team works in a dynamic and global environment where innovating on behalf of our customers is at the heart of everything we do.

As part of our commitment to enhancing the customer experience, the Central Operations team plays a crucial role in managing the operational performance and ensuring the seamless publishing of content from our studio partners and content distributors to our platform. We are seeking a Central Operations Manager to focus more on managing the assets post-successful ingestion from external partners and content distributors, emphasizing centralized post-ingestion assets management. The aim is to create a seamless and tech issue-free experience for the 'last mile' of content routing from our internal catalog to the customer-facing storefront. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and cost-effective publishing of source materials, driving publishing improvements, and developing key performance metrics.

This role may work with executive-level leadership within the studio community, as well as cross-functional projects with internal and external stakeholders. Internal teams include partner ops management, content acquisition, vendor management, merchandising, engineering, content processing, legal, finance, and accounting teams. External teams vary based on partner and may include marketing, rights management, IT and engineering, and digital fulfilment operations teams.

In addition to account management, the Central Operations Manager will own industry-leading content launches and expansion initiatives into new markets, and will conduct analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. In essence, Central Operations Managers act as the general manager and own an end-to-end digital supply chain on Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

This includes owning future-proofing the digital supply chain, setting specification requirement roadmaps, improving partner delivery experience, and delivering programs that drive innovation and efficiency, along with data analysis and visualization, to enhance the global customer experience.

• Content Management and Innovation: Oversee the centralized management of post-success ingestion assets, ensuring a seamless transition from our internal catalog to the customer-facing storefront. Innovate and improve the content delivery process by collaborating with internal and external teams.

• Cross-Functional Team Coordination: Liaise with internal teams such as partner ops management, content acquisition, vendor management, merchandising, engineering, content processing, legal, finance, and accounting, as well as external partners including marketing, rights management, IT, and engineering teams. Align operational strategies and implement technological solutions to enhance the partner delivery experience.

• Operational Efficiency and Automation: Lead initiatives to develop automated solutions for operational efficiency, such as ticket auto-cut functions and bulk check tools. Regularly monitor and report on the health of various programs, providing updates and driving strategic planning for expansion.

• Emergency Response and Process Improvement: Act as a regional subject matter expert, ready for on-call duties and high-severity ticket support. Conduct analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

A day in the life
