Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Remote

Role Overview:

Do you love cloud architecture, streamlining DevOps, and championing CI/CD? Are you the person your teams look to for technical leadership and guidance? Would your coding skills inspire other Engineers to build better infrastructures? If you enthusiastically answered “YES,” then we want you as our next Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.

In this hands-on coding and leadership role, you’ll be an integral member of the Infrastructure and Information Security Enablement (IISE) organization. You’ll oversee cloud operations to maintain optimal operational health, managing the lifecycle of cloud services, optimizing capacity and costs, managing images and patches, and guaranteeing high availability and continuity of services. Leveraging Python and YAML, your strong development background will accelerate our Cloud engineering efforts, development, and optimizing AWS cloud architecture.

About the role :

• Leads the modernization of Cloud engineering and operations with a primary focus on AWS cloud architecture.

• Architects Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform with mature CI/CD pipelines.

• Utilizes Pipeline as Code methodologies, particularly through tools such as GitHub Actions, demonstrating proficiency in integrating testing and security practices early in the pipeline process (left shifting).

• Spearheads the smooth transition and ensures uninterrupted continuation from the development phase of infrastructure (build phase) to its operational activities (run phase).

• Deploys Cloud Infrastructure, encompassing the setup of a landing zone and ensuring secure networking within the Cloud environment.

• Collaborates with application owners, product engineers, and cloud service providers as needed to resolve issues.

• Establishes and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of cloud operations.

About You :

• 5+ years of infrastructure development background, CI/CD including expertise in Networking, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Security.

• Proficiency in managing AWS cloud environments.

• Must have current programming experience in one or more scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or YAML.

• Must have deep experience in Terraform and Kubernetes deploying and managing infrastructure as code.

• Must have current or prior team lead experience with the ability to mentor junior and mid-level team members effectively.

• Solid track record of leveraging GitHub Actions for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows

• Leverages proficient skills in utilizing configuration management tools such as Ansible to automate and streamline our operations.

• Understands Cloud networking expertise in a multi-tenant, multi-cloud landscape.

• Knowledgeable in ITIL frameworks and processes, including incident management, request management, change management, configuration management, and problem management.
