Amazon Senior Operations Manager - Marketing Strategy in San Francisco, California

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com and a leader in cloud computing, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will lead our organization's business rhythm development, cross-team savings pipeline strategies, and financial and HR operations stakeholder coordination. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in streamlining processes, driving operational excellence, and ensuring seamless collaboration across various departments. The successful candidate must have a strategic mindset, strong operational acumen, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Job Responsibilities

Strategic Planning Interlock:

o Partner with strategic planning to devise goaling and measurement framework to ensure strategy is connected to goals, key performance indicators, and business rhythms.

Business Rhythm Development:

o Establish, refine and maintain a consistent and efficient business rhythm across the organization.

o Implement processes, technology solutions and procedures to ensure smooth operations and timely execution of tasks.

o Monitor and analyze business performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.

Savings Strategy Development and Program Management:

o Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to optimize operational expenses.

o Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-effective solutions.

Financial Operations Stakeholder Coordination:

o Act as the primary point of contact for financial operations stakeholders.

o Facilitate communication and collaboration between finance, accounting, and other relevant departments.

o Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

HR Operations Stakeholder Coordination:

o Liaise with HR stakeholders to align operational strategies with human resource objectives.

o Collaborate on employee development initiatives, performance management, and talent acquisition strategies.

o Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations related to HR operations.

Legal Operations Stakeholder Coordination:

o Liaise with Legal stakeholders to align legal processes and ensuring teams operate with legal consideration and best practices across key process and decision points.

Process Improvement and Optimization:

o Continuously evaluate and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

o Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to streamline workflows.

o Develop and implement best practices for operational excellence across the organization.

The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership

  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements

  • Experience with employing marketing strategies to acquire new customers, nurture leads, drive adoption and accelerate growth

  • 7+ years of experience of proven project management, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience working cross-functionally with partner teams to drive adoption and usage of brand assets and messaging

  • Knowledge of financial operations, budgeting, and cost management practices, and familiarity with HR operations, policies, and best practices.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
