Lyft Senior Director, New Partner Technology in San Francisco, California

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic commercial and product leader to join the Partner leadership team. In this role you’ll be responsible for the ideation, growth and commercial strategy of Lyft’s New Partner Technology. You’ll take responsibility for defining our long term partner experience, product, and commercialization strategy for millions of merchants across North America (Restaurants, Sports Venues, Concerts, etc). As the leader of a net new business for Lyft, you will work directly with the Chief Business Officer and Senior Leadership team to help transform Lyft into its next phase of growth. You will work cross functionally across engineering, operations, marketing, and BD to help design, build and commercialize the new product set in 2024.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in designing and executing comprehensive product strategies. You will have a passion for driving change in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You’ll have experience leading a strong team, and working cross functionally across an organization. You’ll be just as comfortable working with top tier reporters as you are defining digital and social strategies, or establishing and executing creative partnerships. You’ll know how to define success and measure it.

This San Francisco or New York-based senior leadership role presents an opportunity to have a profound impact on an organization going through exciting, transformational times. You’ll report directly to the Chief Business Officer and be a key member of the Partners Org leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision and Outside-the-Box Thinker: As part of this role you will imagine a net new product suite that does not yet exist within Lyft’s offerings and will be responsible for leveraging Partner insights to create our product innovation roadmap and execute on it.

  • Growth / Partner Mindset: In this role, you will be focused on building and maintaining external relationships with existing and potential partners (e.g., Restaurants, Sports Venues, Concerts, etc.) to accelerate merchant awareness and adoption of Lyft’s new partner ecosystem strategy. You will also play a key role in supporting growth strategies around Autonomous Vehicles on the platform.

  • Negotiation Expertise: You will design the commercial strategy and make key decisions that will have impact on the future roadmap of our partner strategy and influence how Lyft goes to market

  • Manage Product Lifecycle: by overseeing all launches and refreshes, mapping out risks, and partnering closely with tech leaders across the organization

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: While this is an individual contributor role, you will regularly collaborate with tech leaders, predominantly within Product and Engineering, to effectively define, ideate, test, and launch innovative product solutions to drive Partner growth.

  • Solution-Oriented Approach: Identify and strategize highest value drivers, and design well-managed solutions that not only deliver near-term value, but set the Partnership team up for continued success

  • Executive Presence: You have experience presenting your product vision to Senior Leadership and can deliver concise, objective, and data drive insights in line with the Partner Ecosystem vision.

Experience:

  • 12-15+ years of experience with a strong background in both strategy and commercialization.

  • Strong background in navigating and solving problems within a complex matrix environment

  • Experience working in a competitive and dynamic environment that is fast paced.

This role will be in-office in San Francisco or New York on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected range of base pay for this position in the San Francisco and New York metro areas is $260,000 - $325,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
