BAE Systems Software Lead/Architect (Hybrid) in San Diego, California

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for an experienced, Software Lead/Architect who loves software development and working with exciting technology. The qualified candidate will work on a cross-functional team and provide hands-on technical support to develop and demonstrate the solutions to some of the United States' most pressing problems.

In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions. As a Software Lead/Architect, you will:

  1. Participate in the complete software development lifecycle including designing, developing, debugging, testing, configuring, and deploying our complex, real-time software solutions into simulation and live flight exercises.

  2. Interact directly with current and potential customers to understand their requirements and guide development efforts to meet their needs.

The position may require occasional travel. You will have significant opportunities for career growth in the development of scientific and mathematical software applications and algorithms.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Strong software architecture, design, and development experience using Java, C and/or C#.

  • Software development, coding, and debugging experience across the entire development lifecycle

  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git

  • Experience with Agile development and issue tracking systems, such as JIRA

  • Experience with software build tools, such as Ant, Maven, or Gradle

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders

  • Experience with team leadership and mentoring roles

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Mission planning domain and route finding algorithm development

  • Data fusion experience

  • Experience with any of distributed systems or Military systems or simulations

  • Experience with modeling and simulation software

  • Architecture experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
