Actalent Manufacturing Engineer III in San Diego, California

Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer II will develop engineering solutions to improve the manufacturing process for new and existing aerospace products. Problem solving will be conducted using existing procedures along with data analysis to make engineering judgement calls. Collaborate with design teams and value stream leads for most efficient designs that pair with their manufacturing processes and capabilities.

This role will include some leadership duties in guiding lower level engineers on creating work instructions, manufacturing layouts, travelers and material selections.

Skills:

aerospace, autoclave, composites, solidworks, lean manufacturing, six sigma, as9100, catia, composite layup

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Aerospace preferred)

  • 8+ years experience with 5+ years composite manufacturing (preferred)

  • Lean six sigma

  • Continuous improvement

  • Great communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Marketing, Presentations, Proposals

  • Cost estimating

  • Solidworks or CATIA

  • GD&T

  • Aerospace industry

  • NADCAP

  • Build to print with ability to design tooling and process for the product

  • Minitab (preferred)

  • Ply Nesting software (Cutworks, Patternsmith) (preferred)
