Position: ER Financial Representative

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Shift: 2 Days, 8.00-Hour (09:00-17:30) Rotating Weekends Required!

Position Summary: Are you ready to play a pivotal role in ensuring patients' access to exceptional care? Join our team as an ER Financial Representative. In this dynamic position, you'll facilitate patient registrations, handle billing tasks, and secure patient liabilities with efficiency and hospitality. Your dedication will ensure that patients, physicians, and our hospital's needs are met seamlessly.

Education/Experience/Training: Required:

• 2+ years of experience in front office/medical billing or current hospital registration/admitting (Registration experience is a must!).

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Knowledge of eligibility requirements for various insurance programs.

• Familiarity with IPA, EMTALA, and stringent adherence to HIPAA laws.

• Medical terminology proficiency.

• strong typing skills (45+ wpm).

• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within three (3) months of hire date.

Preferred:

• Continuing education in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

• bilingual proficiency.

Additional Skills Needed:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail and strong mathematical skills.

• Ability to learn quickly and follow directions effectively.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

• strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Outstanding customer service and phone etiquette.

• Willingness to travel to off-site locations (Outpatient only).

Productivity: Strive for up to 30+ registrations per 8-hour shift, including scanning documents, insurance verification, and upfront collections. Ensure patients are appropriately screened and stabilized before discussing admissions or liability.

Responsibilities

• Possess proficient understanding of timekeeping rules to update timesheet by entering changes to employee hours, cost center, meal breaks, paycode, etc. in accordance with applicable policy and collective bargaining agreements

• Resolve timekeeping discrepancies and answer employee timekeeping queries and issues

• Maintain all timekeeping entries according to applicable policy and collective bargaining agreements

• Process termination/final pay accurately and within required deadlines

• Process on cycle and off cycle transactions for prior pay period adjustments
