Description

The hiring pay range for Facility Services Manager :$65,832 - $82,290 annual salary.

SUMMARY

The Facility Services Manager’s purpose is to effectively maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for San Diego Theatres venues and offices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Continuously develop personal understanding of SDT Mission, Vision and Values, and effectively communicate their practice and application to Facilities staff.

  • Maintain an expert level proficiency of SDT corporate and Facilities division policies and procedures, and effectively communicate their practice and application to the Facilities staff.

  • Hire, train, and evaluate Facilities personnel. Develop and coach team members to ensure the optimal performance and alignment with San Diego Theatres’ service standards.

  • Create weekly and long-term work schedules with an attention to the needs of other departments and event schedules. This will include scheduling deep cleaning projects occurring on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.

  • Develop and implement protocols for effective cleaning, sanitizing, and quality assurance at SDT venues and office spaces that meet and exceed the needs of our guests and staff members.

  • Conduct inspections with high attention to detail at SDT venues on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to identify safety concerns, cleaning needs, or repairs.

  • Create set up plans for Facilities team to implement for events.

  • Train all Facilities team members in the safe and proper usage of all mechanical equipment and investigate training opportunities with vendors.

  • Routinely inspect all housekeeping equipment for proper operation and safety and reports repairs needed.

  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of staff uniform inventory, and coordinate distribution with team members.

  • Collaborate with Assistant Director of Event Operations and Facilities Supervisor on departmental digital organization, leveraging technology to increase the Facilities department’s effectiveness.

  • Partner with Event Operations Department Managers to facilitate organizational planning and project management.

  • Maintain Division budget. Oversee Division purchasing, and supply inventory.

  • Commit to the safety mindset. This includes but is not limited to the maintenance of proper Safety Data Sheets of supplies, and conducting safety trainings for staff on a monthly, or as needed, basis.

  • Assist in carrying out policies, procedures and guidelines and promptly advise SDT leadership of conflicts or inappropriate actions.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to diplomatically and tactfully resolve difficult and sensitive situations.

  • Possess exceptional ethics, honesty, and integrity as well as complete respect for confidentiality and the appropriateness of communication.

  • Expert ability to read, interpret and create documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Expert ability to write reports, correspondence, and other business-related documents.

  • Ability to communicate concisely and understandably in the English language. Bilingual (all languages) a plus.

  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of tools. Office365, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint skills a plus.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to solve multiple problems involving varying situations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability and expectation to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours as necessary.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This job supervises the Facility Services staff, which includes the part-time and full-time Service Workers. This position manages to the Facility Services Supervisor. The Facilities Manager leads the Division and fosters a sense of teamwork and ownership through communication and positivity.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five (5) years' experience managing commercial cleaning operations.

  • Experience with represented labor a plus.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of facility management and maintenance programs.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of patrons or employees of organization.

  • Experience with Event Set up software a plus.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Custodial Technician Certification (ISSA) a plus

  • OSHA Safety and Health Specialist Certificate a plus

  • Certified Educational Facilities Professional (APPA) certification a plus

  • Registered Building Service Manager certification (BSCAI) a plus
