Your Opportunity

Our Environmental Services group is looking for an experienced oil and gas/energy professional to join our team as the Oil, Gas & Energy Sector Lead for the Gulf Coast Region . We are on the cutting edge of the Energy Transition with significant growth in supporting our clients in Hydrogen, CCUS, CO2 pipelines, and renewables as well as traditional environmental services support in the upstream, midstream and downstream segments. Your Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Help set the vision and lead the expansion of our oil, gas & energy business in the Gulf Coast region.

  • Support the achievement of continuing national growth for the Oil, Gas & Energy Sector.

  • Manage and grow one or more key client Account Management programs within the Oil, Gas & Energy sector.

  • Develop and maintain a broad range of client relationships throughout the sector.

  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities consistent with the vision and strategic plan.

  • Drive revenue growth opportunities for the entire range of Stantec services and champion an integrated services approach.

  • Work with the regional business leaders (RBLs), regional growth leaders (RGLs), regional geography leaders (RLs), discipline leaders (DLs), other sector leaders (SLs) and business center leaders to meet net revenue, gross margin, and operating income targets in the groups

  • Support growth of a team of high performers. This will include supporting recruitment and retention of subject matter experts, project managers, and account managers within the Environmental Services practice.

Strategic Thinking

  • Identify trends and develop a long-term view of the sector market and key client account base. Work to position the company in key portions of the sector market and accounts to provide for sustainable growth.

  • Develop and implement “win” strategies, including client contact, opportunity identification and positioning, proposal preparation, and preparation of and participation in client interviews.

  • Support setting the vision and executing the implementation of our national US Oil, Gas & Energy sector strategic plan within a collaborative team environment.

  • Innovate and enhance our capabilities, geographic footprint, and integrated approach.

  • Make collaborative decisions using critical thinking, good business sense, and organizational values involving varying levels of risk and ambiguity.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong leadership and business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with Oil, Gas & Energy clients.

  • Demonstrated client account and top-line management experience at a scale of >$10M revenue per year.

  • An entrepreneurial orientation with strong understanding and experience in successful business development and client account growth methods.

  • Strong understanding and experience within the Oil, Gas & Energy sector in the Gulf Coast region.

  • Strong reputation and high level of personal and professional credibility based upon in-depth experience and successful client outcomes.

  • Substantial previous experience in consulting and a solid background serving the needs of Oil, Gas & Energy clients.

  • Team player with ability to both lead and support initiatives and growth within a collaborative “Team Before Me” environment.

  • Demonstrated technical skills and ability to understand Oil, Gas & Energy clients’ key needs and formulate solutions.

  • Possess a valid driver's license with good driving record.

  • Ability to travel.

Key Performance Indicators

KPIs may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Achieve annual HSSE targets specific to a sector leader.

  • Achieve budgeted sales and net revenue in Environmental Services Oil, Gas & Energy sector.

  • Achieve budgeted sales and net revenue with assigned Key Account(s).

  • Ability to recruit and retain sector-specific experts.

  • Win/loss ratio on specific transformational pursuits within the sector.

  • Leading by example by being engaged in the execution/leadership of key projects.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across the organization based on feedback from internal colleagues.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a key contributor to a leadership team, including the following qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in environmental science or engineering is required. We prefer that candidates also have a graduate degree in a technical, business, or marketing field, but a graduate degree is not required.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience, which must include relevant experience within the Oil, Gas and Energy sector in progressively more senior positions.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
