Wells Fargo Mortgage Consumer Direct Sales Manager (SAFE) Bilingual Spanish in SAN ANTONIO, Texas

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop a Mortgage Consumer Direct Sales team to generate quality loans that are compliant with company policy and procedures and meet customer needs

  • Provide guidance, support, and oversight to supervisors in order to achieve performance targets and objectives within the functional area

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development in Mortgage Consumer Direct Sales functional area and take appropriate actions

  • Ensure compliance with company's policies for the services provided

  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding team supervision, work allocation, daily operations, and resources of Mortgage Consumer Direct Sales functional area and team to meet business objectives

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, as well as consultants and managers for day-to-day operational execution, sales effectiveness, and strategic planning

  • Coordinate and build relationships with business partners

  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Mortgage Consumer Direct Sales

  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

  • This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in a SAFE position also must meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO) outlined in the job expectations below

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Mortgage Consumer Direct Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of Leadership experience

  • Bilingual speaking and listening proficiency in Spanish/English

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in coaching and influencing management, as well as experience with the affluent or high net worth customer segment

  • Knowledge and understanding of the retail banking environment and affluent client markets

  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas

  • Professional presentation skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of lending policies, regulations, and compliance

  • Knowledge and understanding of mortgage industry: sales and fulfillment workflow and process

  • Management experience in a customer service, call center, or sales environment

  • Experience identifying inefficiencies, finding opportunities to streamline business processes, and implementing change

Job Expectations:

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

  • Willingness to work on-site at the location(s) listed on the job opening

  • Ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed or scheduled

  • Site hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pmCST; Saturday 8:30am-5:30pmCST

  • Must take and pass required language assessment

  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) website (http://fedregistry.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position. Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary
