Xylem is Hiring! Service Shop Technician - 4 Weeks PTO!!!
 
THE ROLE: The Service Shop Technician - Diesel and Electrical Controls; Godwin Pumps is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of diesel, mechanical and electrical systems in a safe and efficient manner at a Xylem Service Center or Customer jobsite.  We offer a full benefits package to include 4 WEEKS Paid Time Off (PTO), health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and other additional miscellaneous benefits.

 

Job postings will include a wide salary range, with each role's pay falling within that range. The starting salary is based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
 
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on diesel pump equipment and accessories
  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
  • Assist customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following EHS&S guidelines, policies and best practices.
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
     
Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to diagnose common diesel mechanical and electrical issues
  • Experience with diesel engine repairs.
  • Electrical Controls knowledge - experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of DC electric and circuit testing skills.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.
  • Submersible Flygt service.
 
Education and or/Experience:
  • Basic diesel engine experience.
  • Electrical Controls knowledge - experience preferred.
  • Basic Mechanical & DC electrical knowledge.
  • Two to three years of experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience.
Physical Demands
  • ### Prolonged standing on concrete floors; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds;  moderate bending and stooping.
 
Work Environment
  • Shop environment: intermittent exposure to all outdoor weather conditions; intermittent exposure to shop noise and fumes all within limits of OSHA standards.
  • Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and various materials.
  • Extended hours as needed (weekends, overtime and on-call rotations).
 
DAY IN THE LIFE: In this role, the shop & field working environment is subject to temperature fluctuations, noise, and fumes within limits of OSHA standards. The physical demands may include but not limited to sitting and standing for long periods of time, reaching, bending and moving about the facility and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. 
 
SALARY: Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as certificates, endorsements, skills, experience and work location.  This position has an pay rate range starting at $22.00 - $34.00 an hour. Salary range:

$45,000.00 - $72,000.00
