Performs technical procedures in a research laboratory under minimal supervision by applying standard scientific techniques and analytical principles. Procedures include electrophysiologic recording for hearing threshold measurements, tissue collection and processing, microsurgery, flow cytometry, endocochlear measurements and immunohistochemistry. Experience with any of the procedures would be considered a plus. The employee will be trained in these procedures if he or she does not have experience with them. Records observations and measurements and reports results. May be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining cleanrooms and equipment. Will need to maintain mouse or other animal colonies and husbandry. May assist with receipt and inspection of raw materials, and ordering and stocking of materials and equipment.This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
