Position Purpose: The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for leading activities to achieve membership/enrollment goals through various means including, but not limited to, marketing projects and new market initiatives, health fairs and community activities, training, member retention activities, sales visibility and business, broker, provider, market, lead generation, vendor outreach and networking opportunities. This position may also research and assess market and business opportunities.

  • Plans, develops, coordinates, collaborates and conducts events including, but not limited to, meetings, presentations, activities, training, product orientations, focus groups, field marketing events, projects, etc.

  • Develops and maintain business relationships and information that will result in opportunities to increase membership/enrollment targets.

  • Represents the department at internal and external meetings including, but not limited to, vendor reporting, departmental, cross-functional, community, provider, etc.

  • Develops and facilitates presentations and provider onboarding and education materials for potential and contracted Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) Service Providers and Vendors; and Community Capacity Building Funding applicants and awardees.

  • Acts as a liaison between Providers/Vendors and the health plan in an account management capacity. Effectively responds to provider related issues.

  • Acts as point person on key projects.

  • Works with management to develop department workflow policy and procedure documentation for strategy and planning and for reviewing product, collaterals and sales strategies.

  • Drives provider performance to ensure contract terms are met. Participate in the development of network management strategies.

  • May assist in outreach activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Candidate must be willing to travel up to 25% within OR

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field. Minimum three years sales/marketing experience, preferably with government products. Health insurance or managed care experience a plus. Driver’s License may be required by some plans. Specific language skills may be required by some plans.

Pay Range: $54,000.00 - $97,100.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
