Sodexo is seeking a Unit Controller - Campus Segment to support Washington University in St. Louis, MO! !

Washington University in St. Louis ’ campuses are located near the cultural center of St. Louis, surrounded by and adjacent to museums, performance venues, vibrant entertainment and dining districts, one of the nation’s largest civic parks, and beautiful, tree-lined neighborhoods rich in history and diversity.

The campuses are well served by the region’s light rail and bus service, and have easy access to major interstate highways. In total, more than 2,000 acres and more than 150 major buildings comprise the university.

The Unit Controller will support the Senior Unit Controller and provide unit finance support for weekly projections as well as participate in final budget reviews, forecast updates, period close, and other office manager duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and reconciliation of the activities of current and future contracts as assigned per contract terms

  • Conduct monthly analysis of financial performance of clients or contracts assigned

  • Work with Supply Managers and National Account Executives (NAE) to ensure all client volume is being received

  • Interact with all levels of management including NAE of each program, Regional Account Managers, corporate finance, Financial Service Center personnel as well as with the external clients for the contracts the analyst manages

  • Conduct client or contract specific reporting and analysis; and/or

  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed

  • Pay attention to detail

  • Have expert analytical skills along with a demonstrated history with a successful accounting background managing multiple million-dollar accounts

  • Are very comfortable with Excel (Pivot table experience a plus)

  • Demonstrate strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, modeling required0: Access database knowledge preferred

  • Have effective communication skills (written & verbal)

  • Are customer service oriented

  • Have strong finance knowledge, as well as strong research and analytical skills

  • Adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently

  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills

  • Can generate bold, creative ideas to improve performance and processes
