U.S. Army Reserve Command Unit Administrative Technician in Sacramento, California

Summary About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 335th Signal Command (Theater), Company C, 319 Signal Command Battalion, 505 Signal Command Brigade located at Sacramento, California. Responsibilities Use automated systems for data entry, and compilation for analysis and creation of reports. Process personnel and payroll actions. Interpret and apply regulations, policies and practices applicable to unit operations and activities. Coordinate use of U. S. Army Reserve (USAR) centers, and arranges for facility maintenance and repairs. Monitors unit mobilization readiness. Advise new members on the USAR program, obligations, advantages and unit vacancies. Provide personnel and supply technical advice to unit commander and staff. Maintain liaison with higher headquarters assuring compliance with directives. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes administrative and operational services provided in support of a military unit or military activity by preparing a variety of written products to include correspondence and reports; monitoring the unit and individual readiness programs; processing personnel and payroll records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station. To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment. Position may be filled as a Temporary Promotion or Detail NTE (Not to Exceed) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Employees are not eligible for a detail in the OCONUS area unless already residing in the same overseas area (foreign or non-foreign) as the position being filled.
