Oracle Principal Product Manager - Student Cloud in Sacramento, California

Job Description

Student Information Systems, a critical aspect of our Higher Ed SaaS footprint, stands as a top priority for investment at Oracle.

As a Product Manager, you will hold the position of Principal Product Manager, responsible for defining essential product features and wireframes for Student Cloud. Your role will entail close collaboration with internal teams (e.g., product strategy, product management, development, UX, marketing, internal sales reps, consultants) as well as external stakeholders (e.g., customers, analysts, system integrators/partners).

  • Proficiency in translating abstract concepts into concrete specifications, including wireframes.

  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.

  • Skilled in creating process maps and flow diagrams.

  • Knowledge of project management best practices is a plus.

  • Familiarity with the Higher Education industry is a plus.

  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Product Leadership, Designers, Technical Leads, Product Strategy teams, and customers to understand high-level requirements, create product artifacts, flow diagrams, truth tables, and translate them into detailed layouts, wireframes, and user stories.

  • Analyze and incorporate external customer requirements into the product.

  • Lead, propose and justify product directions and requirements.

  • Work with and influence various development teams, scrum masters, and stakeholders to ensure the product's on-time development and delivery.

  • Analyze competitive solutions and conduct research in new knowledge areas.

  • Draft detailed feature design specifications, encompassing overall page-level functions, field-level behaviors, business rules, impact areas, and error messages.

  • Present feature designs and wireframes to stakeholders, team members, and others to gather feedback.

  • Identify role-based user process flows and create process and navigational flowcharts.

  • Collaborate closely with User Experience experts to create high-fidelity visual designs and prototypes.

  • Coordinate with development teams to answer questions and make design and implementation decisions.

  • Collaborate with technical leads to assess the feasibility of feature designs.

  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap.

  • Review end-user documentation for accuracy.

  • Test and verify feature and UX to ensure they align with the design.

  • Investigate product defects and recommend solutions.

  • Demonstrate designed and developed product to Product Leadership and Product Strategy teams.

US: Hiring Range: from $87,600 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
