Description

Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a large company based in the Sacramento that is hiring for an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee our hourly and salary payroll processing operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely execution of payroll procedures while maintaining compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards. This role involves managing payroll components within Workday and leading a team to achieve efficient and confidential payroll processing. Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct and manage the Payroll operations team for hourly and salaried payrolls, including coordination of workflow, tax deposits, deductions, and garnishments.

  • Monitor and evaluate payroll system updates, focusing on accurate and timely processing.

  • Maintain payroll and tax data in the Workday HCM and serve as the subject matter expert.

  • Set guidelines, schedules, and deadlines for payroll processing, ensuring continuous engagement between teams.

  • Develop internal procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit controls.

  • Conduct payroll audits and assist with reconciliation of payroll accounts.

  • Manage the development of the payroll team.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 years of experience processing automated payrolls, including experience with manufacturing companies and 500+ employees.

  • Working experience with Kronos timekeeping system and Workday payroll processes.

  • Experience with multiple state and local jurisdictions.

  • Knowledge of Federal and state payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • FPC or CPP certification desired.
