Emily Krous at Robert Half is working with a client who is offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Roseville, California. The role requires collaboration with various team members to implement the policies and goals of the board of trustees. The responsibilities of this role include maintaining financial records, conducting audits, and managing transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and CFO to implement the goals and policies of the Board of Trustees

• Coordinate with auditors for year-end closing of books and preparation of work papers for interim and annual external audits

• Record cash receipts and disbursements, inter-fund transfers, and perform monthly bank reconciliations

• Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, and corporate credit cards

• Record journal entries for monthly accrued expenses, monthly allocation of cost across entities, quarterly amortization of prepaid expenses, and year-end deferred revenue

• Assist CFO with financial aspects of various resource reporting

• Coordinate with school administrators on spending plans for various resources and tracking related expenses

• Generate purchase orders from purchase requests, review and approve invoice account codes, and resolve billing discrepancies with vendors

• Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service training activities and self-directed professional gractivities necessary to enable scholars and academy to accomplish its goals and objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experienced in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Capable of maintaining and updating the General Ledger

• Skilled in creating and posting Journal Entries
