Become a Corporate Communications Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. As a member of Corporate Communications & Philanthropy’s Customer Communications team, you will lead communications for a portfolio of programs and customer tools and services designed to help customers make clean energy choices. You’ll develop and implement strategic, coordinated communications plans and will distill complicated issues into easy-to-understand content and materials to tell the SCE’s story to our customers and external stakeholders.

In this role you’ll also work closely with team members in Corporate Communications & Philanthropy’s, Corporate Affairs, Customer Service and across the company to communicate in one voice and achieve communications and policy objectives.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright

  • Develops and leads a portfolio of communications campaigns to influence stakeholders like media, customers and employees.

  • Provide strategic recommendations and counsel to business partners and leaders on external and internal communication strategies and tactics that will support company and program objectives.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the department on your portfolio of work; review news stories for inaccuracies and work with media team to correct them.

  • Track the success of various campaigns and course correct as needed.

  • Build coordinated communications plans, talking points, messaging platforms, news releases, FAQs, media statements, employee communications as well as stories for Energized by Edison, the company’s storytelling platform.

  • This position will support crisis communications activities, including as a Public Information Officer, outside of “traditional” business hours.

The Essentials

  • Seven or more years of experience leading strategic communications plans that deliver results for a brand/company, either in-house or for a public relations agency.

  • Experience adhering to AP Style.

The Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.

  • A track record of meeting deadlines and validated ability to handle multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in visual storytelling.

  • Experienced in communicating and working with a diverse array of team members, including leadership.

  • Strategic problem solver; self-starter; high degree of creativity to find new ways to achieve team goals.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, Korean or Vietnamese.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
