Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Rome, Georgia

Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the government industry situated in Rome, Georgia, United States. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities including the execution of comprehensive audit activities, financial management tasks, and the provision of financial advice. This is a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee all general ledger accounting, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

• Spearhead the preparation of all financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.

• Lead and coordinate annual audits in line with state and federal laws.

• Analyze and prepare budgetary reports for various government programs and activities.

• Implement new processes and offer recommendations for improvements in current practices and policies.

• Manage the timely submission of financial data while ensuring its accuracy and completeness.

• Conduct performance evaluations of junior team members and provide guidance.

• Collaborate with upper management in devising and implementing strategic financial planning.

• Coordinate with external auditors, manage the process, and communicate results promptly to relevant parties.

• Participate in forecasting procedures and activities. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation

• Familiarity with General Ledger

• Ability to handle Month End Close procedures

• Audit skills are essential

• Knowledge of Yardi software is a plus

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional certification such as CPA is highly desirable

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
