This role prepares and consolidates financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, analyzes cash flow, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and manages internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting to attain company goals. Candidates with strong analytical skills and a preference for challenging and fast-paced work environments will be successful in this position. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Service field and is located in Rockland, Massachusetts. Great compensation, benefits, and chances for advancement are all part of the package.

Key responsibilities

• Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

• Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

• Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP

• Partake in various department-wide initiatives

• When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests

• Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  Requirements

• High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

• Experience with ERP systems

• Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

• Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

• Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

• min of 3 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with public accounting experience

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are ideal

• Able to manage time well

• Deep understanding of month end closings

• Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience desired

• Knowledge of Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Monthly Journal Entries experience preferred

• Prepaids experience highly desired

• Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

• Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
