Christ Church Temporary Skilled Laborer (Contractor) in Rockaway, New Jersey

DUTIES: Temporary Skilled Laborer (3 months—June, July, and August): The purpose of the Temporary Skilled Laborer (TSL) is to assist the Building Foreman/Facilities Manager/Facilities Mechanic and Associates who together comprise the Facilities Team (FT) in the management of Christ Church facilities, across all Campuses, in consistently maintaining a beautiful place of worship. The TSL will support and perform along with the FT in the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, along with assisting in performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled manual work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of Christ Church facilities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the FT in ensuring that the Church facilities and affiliate locations are well-maintained. Follow project management guidelines to complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required and in a timely manner, while maintaining avenues of communication with FT. Spackling of holes and painting; light janitorial work to include replacing light bulbs/ballasts, vacuuming, garbage removal, and disinfecting restrooms, moving of furniture, etc. The TSL will assist in performing light landscaping work including trimming bushes, weed control/removal, and leaves. Perform all seasonal functions of maintenance during; Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall. Setup and breakdown of rooms as needed for weekend services and or special events. Assist Working Foreman in maintaining boilers, HVAC, alarm and sprinkler systems, pumps, electrical, and other equipment Ability to singularly lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing approximately 5-75 pounds, and for two people approximately 150 pounds. TERMS: This Agreement shall commence upon execution by the contractor and at least one Christ Church officer and shall continue for a period of one year. The Agreement will renew automatically for successive one-year periods unless a party provides 15 days’ advance written notice of the party’s decision not to renew. In addition, either party may terminate this Agreement during any one-year term by giving 15 days’ written notice of termination.
