IDEX Trade Compliance Manager in Rochester, New York

Position Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring all import and export transactions are completed within applicable government rules and regulations. Position will interface with freight forwarders, US customs officers, custom brokers, internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to customs and export regulations.
Essential Functions
Regulations
Ensure US export & import control regulations and licensing requirements are met
Corresponds with domestic and foreign subsidiaries to ensure they understand U.S. laws and are not exporting or re-exporting products or technology to “denied” or restricted parties without the proper licensing or authorizations
Determine qualification and create FTA’s for International customer orders as needed
Maintain an up to date working knowledge/education of export and import regulations
Export & Import Manuals and Processes
Updates export and import manuals on a yearly basis at minimum
Updates export and import Procedures as needed. Reviews said Procedures on a yearly basis at minimum and implements changes as necessary
Denied Party Screening
Responsible for ensuring that all export orders are properly screened and cleared through Precision compliance
Manage the Red Flag screening process for all distributors/agents as per IDEX Corporate Policy
Auditing, Recordkeeping, Documentation
Oversee management of the import and export recordkeeping processes
Audits to ensure proper clearance of imported goods through U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Audits to ensure accurate and timely export filings are completed in ACE Customs system
Responsible to maintain Pulsafeeder trade data ACE reports
Periodic audit of HTS and ECCN database to ensure accuracy
Coordinate with Customs brokers and forwarders to ensure accuracy of import/export documentation
Minimum once a year, audit the trade compliance program using IDEX SharePoint Auditing Tools
Duty Drawback
- Oversees and maintains Pulsafeeder Duty Drawback Program
HTS/ECCN Classification
Assign ECCN/HTS classifications as needed
Make necessary changes in the database as needed. Communicate those changes to Customs Brokers
Training
Train all Pulsafeeder personnel regarding import/export regulations
Targeted training throughout the year with various departments on multiple topics (Assists, Overview, Country of Origin, Marking, Deemed Exports, Incoterms)
Maintain all export & import training records
Additional
Manage daily and weekly import/export compliance tasks
Works with IDEX Corporate Compliance as needed to address any pending compliance issues brought forward by any government agency
Oversees International Shipping and Compliance Specialists in day-to-day shipping tasks
Other duties not assigned.
Experience
Advanced body of knowledge with Export compliance regulations and licensing for controlled products.
US Customs Broker License Preferred
Advanced body of knowledge and experience working with US Custom’s Entry procedures and requirements required
3-5 years trade compliance or customs brokerage experience required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
Knowledge of MS office and general computer systems and databases required
Experience required in Export-Import Control, Customs or other regulatory experience required
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade Compliance, or Logistics preferred
5 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $141,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
