Robert Half is searching for a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience who is interested in working with an esteemed Construction/Contractor firm. Your main responsibilities in this position would include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position requires top-notch analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Located in Rochester, New York, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Construction/Contractor field. Your responsibilities

• Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management

• Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

  Requirements

• Efficient in ERP systems

• 2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• General ledger experience

• Foundational knowledge in account reconciliation

• Adjusting Journal Entries experience required

• Month end closings experience

• Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

• Excellent attention to detail

• BA/BS in Accounting

• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

• Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

• Strong time management skills preferred

• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

• Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
