Description

The Department of Neurology, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in the area of sleep medicine to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists at one of the country’s top-tier clinical research and teaching universities.

The department is one of the top ranked NIH funded medical school departments of neurology in the country with over 100 faculty within 12 divisions. The department has an adult and pediatric neurology residency program, as well as an ACGME accredited fellowship program in many subspecialty areas, including sleep. It is also a site for the NeuroNext program and the University of Rochester has an active Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). The CTSI is the coordinating center for all other CTSIs across the country. The UR Sleep Center is one of the leading centers in the country with rich expertise in clinical care, teaching, and research.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and outstanding board-certified/board eligible fellowship–trained sleep specialist, with a career interest to expand a multidisciplinary sleep clinical and research program. The candidate will care for patients in the outpatient clinic in the sleep center and inpatient neurology consultation service (if coming from a neurology background). There are opportunities to interpret sleep testing and participate actively in the education and training of fellows, residents, and medical students.

Candidates must possess an MD and be eligible for a New York State medical license. Candidates must also be board-eligible and trained in adult neurology.

A post offer health assessment is required.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
