Job Description

Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Collaborates with clinicians to ensure appropriateness of studies. Maintains required documentation.

Job Responsibility

• Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.

• Ensures no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room.

• Prepares patient for exam by placing and positioning patient on exam table within the gantry.

• Enters patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from a requisition completed by the Radiologist to include anatomical area of interest.

• Performs MRI procedures to include: abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies etc.

• Recognizes and promptly reports patient's motor abnormalities; including, fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions etc., to the Radiologist.

• Performs minor repairs and frequent calibration checks and adjusts equipment, when necessary.

Shift Details: Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30am-6pm

Job Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.

• Current License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in New York State required, and Current ARRT Radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

• 1-3 years of technical experience, required.

• ARRT (MR) registry, preferred.

• Experience with MRI, preferred.

The salary range for this position is $54.41-$63.84/hour
