Shell SC Planning Analyst in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

What’s the role?

This role is part of the Supply Chain Planning & Excellence team that oversees all Planning activities, covering activity plans integration in medium, short term and scheduling horizon, including the integration of Demand and Supply plans for materials, people, logistics resources, services, contracts, etc. planning for the SOV Assets in Brazil including exploration portfolio. The team is also accountable for non-hydrocarbon Inventory Management, which includes Inventory Policy, Import/Export activities, Invoicing, Material movements among other activities. The SC Excellence team is accountable for integrated SC performance management, country, partner and regulatory performance requirements related to supply chain activities (local content, import & export regulations, etc.), Capability Planning, Digital Transformation and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Supply Chain (SC) Integrated Demand Plan by making demand for SC resources (materials, people, logistics resources, services, contracts, etc.) visible through collaboration with Functional and Integrated Activity Planner Planners (IAPS)

  • Collect SC demand requirements as per agreed process to provide materials & services, logistics (people/material/waste movements) through Star platform (or any other repository), including all functional demands from projects, turn arounds, drilling campaigns, etc.

  • Accountable to translate the Integrated (and aggregated) demand into a SC Capacity Plan to support the Asset business plan (availability/reliability, costs and safety), highlight opportunities, risks and assess mitigations, make recommendations to be discussed at the Integrated Activity Planning meetings and agree on solutions applying “enterprise first perspective”;

  • Define and agree demand data requirements with Functional/IAPS planners in terms of granularity at relevant planning horizons, systems/tools for demand capture, timing of demand capture, etc.

  • Actively support Planning/IAPS to sign off the agreed long, medium, and short-term Supply Plan through the integrated activity planning process (IAPS). Plan sign-off denotes SC commitment to deliver the plan;

  • Agree the SC Integrated Supply Plan to support the asset goals and critical project milestones;

  • Manages demand change (eg. Break-ins) by using the formal change request tools and techniques to ensure visibility, informed decision-making and minimum disruption to the business and SC;

  • Manage SC Demand and Capacity planning process performance and provide regular reporting on agreed KPI’s

  • Support the SC Planning & Excellence manager in identifying and driving improvement opportunities;

  • Perform planning activities in compliance with Shell Group standards and lead the transition of Manage Demand & Planning process to the new global framework;

  • Improve demand planning process by leveraging our digital tools that addresses critical business needs while revealing the financial impact of inefficiencies, turning insights into action for transformative improvement.

  • Boost our SC planning framework (governance, process, WoW) to quantify gap to potential by providing transparency of organizational waste driven by lack of planning and, by that, highlighting those opportunities through the relevant processes

  • Leverage current digital tool (Star) to fully integrate SC disciplines and provide insights to management team to simplify and improve SC overall performance by enabling data-driven decisions.

  • Develop and maintain an overview of available SC resources: capacity constraints, availability, utilisation, and cost to drive optimisation and right-sizing. In partnership with IAPS, provide SC Management with the right tools and information to ensure optimal allocation of resources.

  • Develop a Planning KPI framework (e.g. demand plan vs actual, demand change statistics, capacity forecast accuracy) including actionable root cause

  • Actively support IAPS on integrating Operator’s reliability-integrity-turnaround roadmap into Shell’s IAPS governance to maximize FPSO operational effectiveness.

What we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields;

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, gained through operations or excellence roles in Planning/ Logistics/ Materials Management/ Contracting and Procurement.

  • In-depth understanding of E2E SC Chain with the focus on SC planning and segmentation techniques to drive value delivery through timely visibility of demand. Experience in S&OP process is highly desirable.

  • Able to understand the business activities, interpret business demand and translate this into SC demand to deliver a safe and rationalised SC Demand Plan balancing costs and agreed service level

  • Demonstrate the ability to apply technology and work with different demand planning tools

  • Able to manage and analyse significant amounts of data to provide transparency of financial impacts of inefficiencies.

  • Understand and apply use of analytics and process indicators to drive continuous improvement.

  • Strong E2E process management thinking

  • Demonstrate solid mathematical and statistical knowledge.

  • Be an effective and clear communicator able to engage and manage conflicts in a sensible, fair and efficient manner.

  • Able to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders across the business and influence without authority.

  • Be a creative thinker, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and challenging the status quo

  • Strong continuous improvement mindset

  • Certification in Lean/Six Sigma tools is desirable.

  • Able to manage uncertainty and work with incomplete data.

  • Fluency in English
