FORT BEND COUNTY MUNICIPAL Special Projects Coordinator in Richmond, Texas

JOB SUMMARY: Acquires and manages right-of-way and property acquisition. Coordinates public and private utility relocation for County projects. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with the project team and coordinates with surveyors, engineers, and attorneys to identify properties for County projects. Investigates property conditions and valuation of land. Negotiates with landowner and coordinates with Commissioners Court to settle land deals. Coordinates right-of-way acquisition with TxDOT. Manages outside consultants and appraisers to acquire right-of-ways for County projects. Plans, coordinates and implements right-of-way activities with engineering staff, project managers, project designers, surveyors and County attorneys. Maintains uniform, orderly records of acquisitions along with the County Attorneys Office. Monitors property foreclosures in relation to the major thoroughfare plan and future mobility projects. Reviews Design Plans and tracks acquisition schedules. Communicates with public about projects during planning. Periodically monitors construction progress. Assists the County Engineer in maintaining communication between the County and the Toll Road Authorities. Coordinates agreements with developers and landowners. Coordinates contracts with consultants. Coordinates reporting to Engineering staff, Commissioners Court, Toll Road Authority, or other groups. Coordinate with TxDOT, cities, or other groups. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED; Two years of college level courses. Five years experience in related field working in the acquisition of public right-of-ways and property. Communication and conflict resolution skills to explain projects. Extensive knowledge of computers and software such as databases, spreadsheets and word processors. Ability to read construction drawings. Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials. Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner. SALARY RANGE: $2,778.40 - $3,473.60 biweekly based on qualifications All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
