Our Regulatory Strategy & Integration team is seeking a dynamic Environmental and Regulatory Professional with a background in the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and/or Atomic Energy Act (AEA) program requirements. Our mission is progressing the environmental restoration program through gaining regulator concurrence on CERCLA decision documents, moving the RCRA program from Interim Status to Final Status through permitting, and ensuring compliance with the AEA program requirements. The Environmental Scientist job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to the following: * Develop technical approaches to remediation decisions for CERCLA and RCRA programs. * Manage and deliver regulatory decision documents for the CERCLA, RCRA and AEA programs. * Authoring, reviewing, and performing document tasks on decision documents and permits within CERCLA/RCRA/AEA, preparing presentations materials, preparing meeting notes and defining investigation needs and preparing sampling and analysis plans. * Working closely with the DOE customers on scope definition, disposition of document review comments, and project schedules. * Writing and reviewing technical documents. * Ensuring that regulatory documents meet customer expectations and are consistent with the previous approaches used for Hanford cleanup as well as meeting the strategic vision for completing cleanup. * Assisting in defining strategic approaches for cleanup and closure and review, organizing, and reporting groundwater and soils data. * Incorporating accepted Hanford cleanup approaches into the regulatory documents under development, which includes incorporation of DOE's Central Plateau Principles, Human Health and Ecological risk assessment scenarios, and negotiated land use and cleanup levels. * Cooperatively working with DOE, State of Washington Department of Ecology and EPA in meetings and workshops. * Creating presentations and responding to comments from Hanford stakeholder groups such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and State of Washington Department of Ecology, as well as the Tribal Nations, Oregon Cleanup Board, and the Hanford Advisory Board. * Working within a structured team on special and routine tasks for completing the baseline scope, requests by the local DOE customer, DOE headquarters and the local regulators. * Performing work in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner. * Ensuring that environmental documents to support Groundwater, Closure, and permit requirements are compliant with applicable regulations. * Coordination and conductance
