Comcast Advertising helps the television industry monetize its premium content through a robust technology platform that enables consumers to view high-quality videos on any device, including PC, smartphone, OTT device, set-top box, and traditional TV.

Comcast Advertising’s Reston Engineering Hub is the center of our global engineering group, which is building a one-stop solution for the TV industry to manage its billion-dollar revenue. Our tech platform is capable of handling billions of daily requests, providing insightful forecasting of inventory and audience, processing terabytes of raw daily data, and optimizing clients’ businesses.

Role Description

As a Search engine Intern on the Infra UI&API team, you will:

  • Develop and optimize search algorithms to improve search personalized, relevance, performance, and scalability.

  • Work with large complex datasets to build efficient indexing and retrieval systems.

  • Implement advanced features such as natural language processing, machine learning models, and ranking algorithms.

You’ll be working with the best and brightest minds in Comcast Advertising while we roll out the Search Engine that will power Personalized ranking and recommendation. Success in this role is characterized by a faster speed to market and better user experience on the Search function.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in designing, implementing,and fine-tuning search algorithms to improve the relevance and accuracy of search results.

  • Implement and test personalization techniques to tailor search results based on user preferences and behavior.

  • Work with large datasets to analyze and extract meaningful patterns that can enhance search performance.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.

  • Basic understanding of search algorithms, data structures, and databases.

  • Experience with data analysis and handling large datasets.

  • Knowledge of machine learning and personalization techniques is a plus.

  • Preferred Majors: Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university

  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027)

  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)

  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025

  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Salary:

Base Pay: $40.00
