The Neurosurgery Specialist will function within the Neuro portion of the Integra Codman Specialty Surgical business. Primary call points will include the neurosurgeon, neurologist, intensivists and neuro critical care nurse.

While the Account Managers will support the neurosurgical business, attention must be paid to the e. g. high volume liver centers in order to continue growth and development in the general segment. Therefore, the Neurosurgical Specialist will support mainly targeted neurosurgical opportunities as described below.

The Neurosurgical Specialist will support and maintain Tissue Ablation, Mayfield range, Hydro/NCC, Dura and all Consignments

This position is a case coverage/in-service role with quarterly sales targets (Quota) and under the Sales Incentive Plan.

Primary responsibility will be to achieve or exceed defined territory sales revenue targets. Comprehensive targeting and strategic planning with the Account Managers and National Sales Manager in the assigned regional territory is expected. The Neurosurgery Specialist will use his/her clinical expertise, market & product knowledge, relationship building, effective clinical change management and exceptional customer service to advance and close opportunities. In addition, the Neurosurgery Specialist will be integral to transitioning the business, post-acquisition/conversion, to ensure that any change in clinical practice is smooth and monitored closely for an appropriate amount of time.

This includes:

  • assessing and developing the technical/clinical competencies of the customer;

  • assist in the development of technical/clinical competencies of the Account Manager

  • Reviewing account progress and needs with the Account Manager, National Sales Manager on a regular basis.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Primary responsibilities are:

  • Conduct training

  • Product management (technical)

  • Portfolio management

  • KOL management

  • Given the geographic size and potential opportunity, specific detail and attention will be given to targeting. Three types of targets will be described 1) Neurosurgery Competitive Conversion Initiatives 2) High Volume Liver Accounts 3) Maintaining Business of High Profile Neurosurgery Customers.

  • Attains sales quota and market share objectives as defined by the National Sales Manager

  • Works closely with Codman Specialty Surgical Account Managers to drive sales growth in target accounts or key product areas. Assist Codman Specialty Surgical Account Managers with sales presentations and interaction in intensive care areas of the hospital.

  • Prioritizes time towards Priority/Target accounts - High Opportunity, High Volume or High Profile

  • Develops & executes clinical education programs for priority/target accounts that will promote knowledge, increase product utilization and increase account revenue.

  • Provides field support for product and/or clinical questions from Account Managers and customers.

  • Promotes execution of educational programs for assigned regional sales team(s) and evaluates for effectiveness.

  • Participates actively in national neuroscience professional organizations to increase the company visibility and credibility

  • Acts as a field resource to the Marketing Department during product development, new product introductions, and product promotions.

  • Meets quarterly with National Sales Manager to review sales performance, target account progress, and competitive landscape.

  • Supports the sales team through development and revision of training materials and assists the sales trainer with training programs in the country

  • Maintains high level of clinical, market and product knowledge

  • Operates within defined budgets and strictly with in accordance with Corporate policies and procedures

  • Performs administrative duties in a timely manner and as defined by management

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.

  • Experience with neuroscience patients; including participation in training programs

  • Preferable tohave a working knowledge of Tissue ablation equipment and Neurosurgery productsrelated experience >3 years
