POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Support Assistant is responsible to assist the Facilities Director and Facilities Technician by completing custodial duties and basic facilities maintenance to ensure a healthy, safe, and pleasant environment for members and other staff. Tasks will include cleaning, maintenance of buildings and equipment, minor repair tasks, picking up and delivering supplies and donated goods, assisting with special events, organizing storage areas, inventory control, and assisting with a preventative maintenance program.

This is a non-supervisory role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in maintaining a preventative maintenance program as defined by the Facilities Director.
  • Abide by and adhere to written Standard Operating Procedures relating to facilities and safety.
  • Ensure Club premises are well maintained both inside and outside, including both functional and visual maintenance.
  • Complete scheduled janitorial duties as set-out by the Facilities Director.
  • Clean all floors according to the cleaning schedule.
  • Walk the building daily and perform additional basic janitorial and maintenance tasks, if able, without direction.
  • Assure the building and grounds are clean, including floors, walls, and windows, and free of trash.
  • Report all maintenance needs observed beyond the abilities of the assistant directly to the Facilities Director.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks on an ongoing basis.
  • Install signage, plaques, photos, and artwork.
  • Assist Facilities Technician with higher-level maintenance and facilities needs.
  • Assist other staff members with janitorial or facilities requests with respect.
  • Pickup and deliver items for Club events and donations.
  • Setup and break down equipment for community/Club events.
  • Perform snow removal and ice management, as required.
  • Participate in special programs and/or events.
  • Required to attend and participate in regular Department meetingsas directed by the Facilities Director.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and other facilities.

Qualifications

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills, and anabilityto communicate effectively with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual reporting to assigned tasks.
  • Able to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

CERTIFICATIONS/ASSOCIATIONS:

  • Required to possess a valid Nevada driver license.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Some experience preferred.
  • Due to insurance requirements, must be at least 21 years of age or older and have a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, and/or bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.
  • Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to perform surface and deep cleaning, as needed.
  • Must be able to lift, move, manipulate and/or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting or manipulating.
