Responsibilities:

Provide behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families enrolled in approved studies. Assist the Principal Investigator with the implementation of research protocols. Along with the PI, ensure that research projects are conducted in compliance with federal regulations, institutional/departmental guidelines, and standards of Good Clinical Practice. Work under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Heath Counselor.

Job Posting Addendum:

The "Concussion Health Improvement Program” (CHIP Study) tests the effectiveness of different intervention elements (CBT, parent support, and care management) for youth ages 11-18 who have had a concussion and are not improving. The following are the main responsibilities for the Behavioral Health Specialist (Skills Coaches) in the CHIP Study:

Schedule and deliver intervention sessions to participants (on Zoom), ensuring that the correct components are being delivered depending on the participants’ pathways

• Document intervention notes in REDCap and organize Zoom audio files

• Participate in weekly supervision meetings with study investigators and research team

• Conduct phone follow up with participants who endorse suicidal ideation and consult with clinical team, documenting all procedures using the self-harm form

• Contribute to quality improvement by offering insights and concrete ideas for streamlining or enhancing existing study processes and procedures

Skills coaches are expected to offer at least 12 hours of their time to be available during non-school hours (defined as 3-8pm on weekdays or anytime on the weekends) to accommodate the scheduling needs of study participants. Skills coaches are expected to utilize a mobile phone during their work hours in order to respond to participants’ questions by text or phone, and to check email on all work days. They will be trained and supervised. This is a part-time position with flexibility to be 0.4 - 0.6 FTE (16-24 hours per week).

Requirements:

Required Education/Experience:

• • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of experience in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
• • 4 years of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families (i.e. assessments, therapy, case management) ; or Master’s degree and 2 years of experience providing direct treatment services to children and families

Required Credentials:

• • Valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions/departments.

Preferred:

• • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
• • Current licensure in Washington State as a Registered Counselor or Mental Health Counselor Associate.
• • Experience providing behavioral interventions with children & families.
• • Experience working in a behavioral or clinical research setting.
• • Experience with evidence based practice.

Min to Max Hourly Salary: $30.37 - $45.55 /hr

Min to Max Annual Salary: $63,169.60 - $94,744.00 /yr

Salary Information:

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
