As a Network Security Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our network security platform. You'll serve as an escalation point, providing guidance and expertise to resolve complex issues. Additionally, you'll be heavily involved in platform maturity initiatives and project work, driving innovation and efficiency across the organization.

  • Serve as an escalation point for Level 2 engineers, providing guidance and expertise to resolve complex network security issues.

  • Lead platform maturity initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance our network security posture.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project work related to network security, ensuring successful implementation and integration with existing infrastructure.

  • Support, implement, and manage advanced network security solutions, with a primary focus on the Palo Alto stack and other industry-leading technologies.

  • Configure and maintain firewall policies, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems to fortify our network defences.

  • Proactively monitor security alerts and incidents, responding promptly to mitigate potential threats detected by our SIEM.

  • Investigate and analyse security incidents and support cases, providing detailed reports and recommendations for remediation.

  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

  • Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities, keeping our security measures current and effective.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Participate in compensated on-call duty, typically averaging two weekends per quarter.

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years focused specifically on IT security.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer, with advanced expertise in Palo Alto technologies and other industry-leading security solutions.

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, security architecture, and best practices.

  • Experience with a wide range of security tools and technologies (e.g., IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint security, VPN devices).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with experience leading and mentoring teams.

  • Certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) and CISSP are highly desirable.
