Location/Division Specific Information

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Training Specialist II collaborates with business partners, project or program leads to enhance the learning experience for colleagues in CDSD, as well as shaping the capability development of our current and future workforce. Measurably improves corporate readiness, performance and quality.

A day in the Life:

  • Manages assignments of Learning Activities and training Audiences in the pertaining Learning Management System(s) (LMS).

  • Generates and analyzes reports created in the LMS or other platforms (PowerBI, Microsoft Excel), implementing or suggesting updates as indicated.

  • Supports and collaborates with business partners, project or program leads to prepare the delivery of learning products and services in the LMS to maximize content retention and support business outcomes and industry compliance.

  • Manages content repositories (“Knowledge Centers”) based on SharePoint and other platforms.

  • Generates and analyzes reports created for the content repositories, and in interaction with Subject Matter Experts and Management (as required) ensures content and structural updates as indicated.

  • Creates or supports creation of varied support materials, presentations, training programs, tools, simulations and/or micro learning components and modules on the appropriate use of the LMS and compliance.

  • Manages appropriate documentation (i.e. governance documents, trackers), including copying, sorting and filing.

  • Supports small projects that mature key learning programmatic capabilities and refine internal processes for the department.

  • Occasionally designs, develops, and delivers educational, training and learning products and services for the business.

  • Performs special projects, assignments and administrative tasks per business needs.

  • Provides “train-the trainer” sessions and Q&A support for management and staff regarding learning assignment and compliance.

  • Communicates with system administrators to ensure issue resolution and proactive implementation of new training items

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills to deliver high quality work within project timelines

  • Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office365 (specifically Excel; preferably SharePoint and Teams)

  • Interest in data analytics, including systematic filtering, subsetting and merging, with knowledge in querying relational databases a preference (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, MS Access)

  • Good creative and critical thinking skills

  • Good understanding of process improvement fundamentals

  • Fundamental ability to translate issues into actionable business solutions

  • Good judgment, decision making, escalation, and risk management skills

  • Effective ability to compile, enter, track and maintain data and records management systems

  • Effective oral presentation and written communication skills

  • Solid negotiation skills

  • Solid interpersonal skills and problem solving ability

  • Basic consultancy skills
