Function as the site Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for a facilities operations and maintenance services contract that oversees critical operations at a NASA facility 24/7 in Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Responsibilities

Develops, implements and maintains company policies adhering to NASA, installation, local, state and Federal environmental, health and safety regulations

Involved in the design and development of work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly

Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating health, safety, and environmental policy and procedure manuals

Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization

Serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies, and installation safety, health, and environmental staff

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities:

Qualifications

BA degree in related field or equivalent with HAZWOPER certification (minimum 24 hour) or the ability to obtain upon hiring

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Safety Manager on a US federal government service contract for facility maintenance, operations, and management

An expert understanding of the health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to the site

Ability to gain cooperation, coordinate the work of others, and build a cohesive team

Capability to adjust work operations to meet emergency or changing program or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice to quantity and quality of work

Ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress

Excellent writing and speaking skills to facilitate communicate at all levels

Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills

Excellent team member, organizational and planning skills

Secret security clearance required

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

Experience with AR 385-10 and other DoD safety, health, and environmental regulations

Experience with ISO 14001 compliance
