Job Description

An employer is looking for a Demand Forecaster to collaborate with customers to forecast their future cloud resource needs based on both organic (historical usage, internal data) and inorganic (macroeconomic, market, and industry trends) inputs. The role involves evaluating forecast accuracy, monitoring usage patterns, and analyzing broader economic factors to provide data-driven recommendations for resource allocation and cost management. This person will work closely with customers to gather and assess their cloud resource projections, incorporating both organic inputs (usage trends, consumption data) and inorganic inputs (external factors, market conditions, macroeconomic trends). They will evaluate forecast accuracy by comparing projected resource usage against actual consumption, adjusting forecasts and strategies as needed. They will analyze Azure cloud service usage trends, historical data, and economic indicators to create comprehensive forecasts and recommendations for resource allocation. This person will provide insights and recommendations on cost control measures and resource optimization, ensuring customers stay within their budget while meeting operational needs. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and maintain accurate cloud resource inventories to align with business objectives. This person will develop and distribute detailed forecasting reports, tracking changes in usage patterns and their impact on resource planning.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in a Demand Forecasting role

5+ years of experience with excel (v-lookups / being able to analyze data)

5+ years of experience with Microsoft Tools (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook etc.)

Expertise in forecasting models, cost analysis, and data-driven decision-making within cloud computing environments.

Ability to work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored cloud resource projections.

Experience evaluating both organic (usage trends, internal data) and inorganic (market conditions, external factors) inputs for accurate forecasting.

Knowledge of Azure cost management tools and experience working with data analytics software.

Proficiency in documenting and managing customer/client information in cloud environments.

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain), etc. null
