Ecolab Lead Field Technician in Reading, Pennsylvania

Reference #: R00229955 Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company has a full-time opening for a Lead Field Technician in Blandon, PA The Lead Field Technician will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for overall safety, direction of all activities concerned with economical resin regeneration, product production, preventative maintenance, as well as leadership of continuous improvement. This role is also required to learn and understand the basics of the ion exchange regeneration processes, as well as be responsible for performing a variety of tasks necessary to maintain the equipment and structures of the regeneration plant and related facilities. What You Will Do: Follow all safety rules and requirements and conduct safety inspections on plant equipment. Implement and maintain the plant's preventive maintenance program. Perform a variety of preventative & corrective maintenance on plant equipment (pumps, tanks, support structures, valves, valve actuators, controls), process systems (parts replacement, equipment changes, cleaning of tanks), and facilities (corrosion control, cleaning, adjusting, lubricating, painting, calibration). Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Prepare specifications and procures parts and equipment through the procurement process. Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of repair versus replacement and differentiate between unserviceable parts and components that can be reused without the likelihood of premature failure. Assist with supervising outside contractors to perform regular and non-regular work. Help or fill in as Plant Process Operator 1 or 2 and/or perform other administrative related duties as required. Manage cleanliness and housekeeping throughout plant. May require forklift operation.

Position Details Pay: $30/hr Location: Blandon, PA Shift: 1st shift

Minimum Qualifications: 2years of experiencein an industrial maintenance environment Technical ability to learn and become proficient in pretreatment/mechanical water treatment equipment including reverse osmosis, water softeners, filters, and deionization Ability to communicate effectively, follow oral and written directions, and to work effectively with co-workers and supervisors Immigration sponsorship not available for this position

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs Must be able to pass a drug screen Must be able to safely work in a deionizer regeneration plant environment, work in confined spaces, lifting, climbing, and stooping, exposures to water, grease, noise, chemicals and fumes. Must be able to work in difficult situations such as confined spaces, heat, heights, and a wet & mechanical environment. Must be able to wear and use protective gear as regulated by PA/OSHA and Nalco Water, including respiratory protection, protective eye wear, steel toed boots, chemical resistant gloves and coveralls. Required to respond in an on-call status for critical plant repairs during off-shift hours.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Prior Wastewater or water treatment experience Prior experience with pumps, welding, electrical safety, forklifts, hydraulics and valves. Prior safety and behavioral based safety culture experience Prior experience with tools, procedures and methods utilized in an indus rial maintenance environment. Prior experience with electronic and PLC based applications in an industrial environment. Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning, and/or boiler operations
