Under supervision you conduct experiments, complete assigned projects or offer functional services. Using your fundamental understanding of data collection, you will assess for compliance and take corrective measures when necessary. You may also assist in interpreting data and writing technical reports. You are regarded as a technological resource in your technical area.

How you will contribute

You will prepare samples and materials for descriptive, discrimination, consumer groups, and product testing and manage those samples and generate accurate data. In addition, you will ensure the efficient and safe running of the consumer science laboratory, including maintenance of the quality system and compliance to food safety and health and safety operating procedures and help prepare test designs, online questionnaires and performance graphs for descriptive analysis. You will help with the screening and recruitment of panelists for discrimination and descriptive panels and may assist in running routine language review sessions and prepare data collection files for descriptive analysis.

What you need to know about this position:

Provide Consumer Science related support to Mondelēz global legal entities, per service agreements. This includes the global chocolate category as well as the categories within the European Business Unit but may also include support to other regions as organization priorities dictate.

The role contributes to the preparation and serving of samples, questionnaires, and generating computer files for consumer science projects conducted on the Reading site and other duties as assigned by the Operations Leader. This role will be responsible for the efficient and safe running of the laboratories.

Primary accountabilities:

  • Assist the team in running laboratory and consumer tests as required.

  • Assist in preparing hand-outs and language sheets for panels

  • Support with recruitment of panellists for discrimination and descriptive panels.

  • Prepare samples and materials for descriptive, discrimination, focus groups, screening and training etc. as required.

  • Assist team in sending samples to other CS teams, stakeholders etc.

  • Taking ownership of samples: LIMS, storage, photographs and disposal

  • Maintain the stock of consumables required for projects.

  • To be responsible for the efficient and safe running of the sensory laboratory, including maintenance of the quality system, ensuring that procedures are followed properly and highest standards of work and environment, health and safety are maintained.

  • Ensure two-way communication between yourself and other team members

  • Develop knowledge and expertise in relevant category areas

Job specific requirements:

No previous experience is required, we are looking for someone to join who has the willingness to work and be proactive.

Work schedule: This is a part time position, consisting of 12 hours per week. the hours of work are 08:30am-12:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The responsibilities of this position are performed within the framework of a regional business model that is defined and managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland .
